Ashburton Ventures says their drilling program at the Deep Creek Project, 112 kilometers north of Elko, Nevada is almost complete.

The company drilled twenty-seven core holes in the current program, a total of 3,178 meters (10,427 feet). They have cut just over half of the core and submitted it for assay. 20% of the core assay has been received so far.

The company is quite happy with the results, especially partial results for drill hole DC-11-C-5, which intersected an average of 3.67 grams per tonne gold over six meters in the Waterfall Vein Area.

Drilling in the Upper Vein Area found an average of 2.54 grams per tonne gold over 1.5 meters in drill hole DC-11-C-10, and 6.94 grams per tonne gold over 1.2 meters in drill hole DC-11-C-13.

Cores were cut with on site saws, and at another facility in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Half the HQ core was submitted for treatment to the ALS Chemex Laboratories in Elko, and some to North Vancouver, British Columbia.

For our technical readers, the company says “The samples have been assayed for gold using the Au-AA24 protocol (0.005-10 part per million gold detection range), with overlimit values re-assayed using the Au-GRA22 protocol (0.05-1,000 part per million gold detection range). A certified standard was submitted for assay along with the core.”

And for the geologists, “In both the Waterfall Vein and Upper Vein Areas, the anomalous intervals are associated with breccias in variably silicified limestones of the Proterozoic McCoy Group. It is believed that the mineralization is contained within the breccias, whose true dimensions will not be known until further drilling results are received.”

A man pulled over in Interstate 80 for a routine speeding stop was arrested Saturday after Nevada State Troopers found over 10 pounds of marijuana in his possession.

Kenny Su Kim, 44 of Fremont, CA, was found blazing his way down I-80 near Elko by troopers and pulled over. Suspecting some form of criminal activity, the trooper summoned a K-9 drug dog to sniff out the vehicle. The dog alerted the trooper to a possible controlled substance in the car.

Kim was eventually released from the scene as the officer had no other reason to keep him. Later on, the officer obtained a search warrant and discovered 10 pounds of the green stuff in a luggage bag, prompting authorities to track Kim down at the Red Lion Hotel & Casino and arrest him on charges of unlawful import of a controlled substance, possession not for sale and possession for sale of a controlled substance.

His bail was set at $15,142.

Exeter Resource Corporation is pleased to provide an update on progress at the Caspiche gold-copper project in the Maricunga district, Chile.

Exeter Resource Corporation is pleased to provide an update on progress at the Caspiche gold-copper project in the Maricunga district, Chile.

On November 22, 2010 Exeter announced the appointment of Aker Solutions (“Aker”) of Santiago, Chile to carry out two pre-feasibility studies for its Caspiche gold-copper project. The first study will consider a stand-alone “oxide gold” project to mine the upper part of the deposit and is scheduled to be available in early Q2-2011. The second study, to be run concurrently with the oxide study, will consider mining both the oxide and sulphide deposits. That study is scheduled to be available in Q3-2011.

Current activities relate to defining the mining and mineral processing options to be adopted by Aker in the pre-feasibility studies (“PFS”). Work in progress is a follows:

Heap Leach Testwork

The oxide gold PFS is considering a heap leach gold mine to develop the upper portion of the Caspiche deposit. McClelland Laboratories, Nevada has now completed a 29 column leaching program on selected materials sourced from diamond drill cores. Detailed analyses of the column residues and reagent usage calculations are in progress.

A metallurgical test program on drill core samples from the MacNeill zone started this week at McClelland Laboratories. This portion of the Caspiche deposit contains sulphides but is low in copper. The program will examine whether this type of mineralization is best suited to heap leaching or flotation recovery.

Sulphide Zone Testwork

The sulphide zone flotation pilot plant program at SGS Lakefield laboratories in Canada was completed early in December. Approximately 10 metric tons of sulphide material broadly representative of the Caspiche Indicated Resource was treated to provide design information for the PFS and to provide large samples for further investigations into concentrate treatment and recovery optimisation testwork. A subsequent test program has started with a scheduled completion date set for the end of January 2011.

Mining, Infrastructure and Water Studies

NCL Ingenieria (“NCL”) of Santiago has completed detailed pit designs for the oxide heap leach gold PFS. In addition Aker have now completed trade-off studies to evaluate production rates and crush sizes. More detailed work will now start on the selected options. The study remains on track for completion in the second quarter of 2011.

Work is well underway for the main oxide-sulphide PFS for Caspiche. NCL and geotechnical consultants AKL are close to finalising mine design and scheduling for a “Superpit” option, which assumes open-cut mining to a depth of approximately 1,000 metres (“m”). Aker have developed initial flowsheets and design criteria for a sustainable production rate of 150,000 tonnes/day (+50Mtpa). Production rates will be firmed up when final mining schedules are available.

NCL and Aker are also advancing an “all underground” option which will look at developing a lower tonnage, higher grade case using modern block caving techniques. This scenario has potential to significantly reduce the quantity of mechanical mining equipment and the number of people working above 4,000m altitude.

A specialist consultant for tailings storage and bulk earthworks design, Knight Piesold of Elko, Nevada, has carried out a site inspection to locate and rank suitable sites for overburden and tailings storage. Their report should allow Aker to finalise locations for the placement of major infrastructure for the PFS.

Geophysical surveys over one of the Company’s regional exploration properties located outside of the Copiapo Basin have indicated some potential for development of a high altitude water resource. The Company has applied for water exploration rights over this property. High altitude water has excellent potential to be sustainable through annual snow melt, and any water discovery at similar or higher altitudes than the Capsiche project has potential to reduce pumping costs.

Exploration Drilling

The Company is in-fill drilling higher grade material currently classified as Inferred Resources in the Caspiche resource model. The objective is to generate the data necessary to bring some of this material into the Indicated Resource category for inclusion in the PFS.

On completion of the in-fill drilling within the main Caspiche deposit, a number of exploration targets will be drill tested to assess the potential for ancillary resources on the property.

Jerry Perkins, Exeter’s VP Development and Operations said, “Exeter has commissioned a broadly based series of sub-studies to provide Aker with a realistic information platform for the pre-feasibility studies. Aker are fully involved in the coordination and specifications of all such studies to ensure the best study outcome. In addition to Exeter’s study management team headed by John Wells, we continue to bring in experienced specialist consultants to review progress and contribute initiatives to the studies.”

Jerry Perkins, Exeter’s VP Development and Operations and a “qualified person” within the definition of that term in National Instrument 43-101, Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects, has supervised the preparation of the technical information contained in this news release.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Elko District, Wells Field Office; and BLM Ely District, Schell Field Office are making the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Antelope Complex Wild Horse Gather available to the public for review. The Final EA incorporates an additional alternative brought forward during the public comment period that concluded Oct. 19. The BLM expects to issue a Decision Record in mid-December.

The BLM is scheduled in late January 2011 to gather and remove approximately 1,917 to 2,278 excess wild horses from in and around the Antelope Complex. The complex is located approximately 60 miles south of Wells, Nevada and consists of the Antelope Herd Management Area (HMA) which is managed by the Ely District, Schell Field Office and the Antelope Valley, Goshute, and Spruce-Pequop HMAs which are managed by the Elko District, Wells Field Office.

There are currently an estimated 2,705 wild horses within the complex where the appropriate management level (AML) is 427-788 wild horses. If more than 2,278 wild horses are gathered, selective removal criteria would be used to return horses to the range. Of the horses remaining on the range, BLM would conduct fertility control measures on mares and/or adjust the sex ratios of the gathered animals to be returned to the HMA to 60 percent male/40 percent female ratios.

Removing the excess wild horses will help to prevent further deterioration of the range, and achieve and maintain a thriving natural ecological balance and multiple-use relationship as required under the 1971 Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act, and Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976, as well as help to achieve and maintain healthy, viable wild horse populations.

The gathered animals will be transported to the Palomino Valley Center near Reno, Nevada, where they will be prepared for the BLM adoption program. Un-adopted horses will be placed in long-term pastures where they will be humanely cared for and retain their “wild” status and protection under the 1971 Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act. The BLM does not sell or send any horses to slaughter.

The Antelope Complex gather and impacts are described and analyzed in the Final EA, which is available online at www.blm.gov/nv. Click on the Elko District map and then click on the EA listed “In the Spotlight.” The BLM will also provide updates and information at the same Web address on a regular basis throughout the course of the gather.

For more information, contact Lesli Coakley, BLM Elko District public affairs specialist, at (775) 753-0386 or by email at lesli_coakley@blm.gov.

Executives from NV Energy, Ormat Technologies, Inc. and Kern River Gas Transmission Company today dedicated southern Nevada’s first non-solar renewable energy project, the Goodsprings Energy Recovery Station.

Located 35 miles south of Las Vegas, the Goodsprings Energy Recovery Station is the first renewable energy project owned by NV Energy. The project is rated at 7.5 megawatts, enough to supply approximately 4,500 homes in southern Nevada.

Goodsprings Energy Recovery Station was built in partnership with Kern River Gas Transmission Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company, and by Ormat Nevada Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ormat Technologies Inc.

“Our Goodsprings project provides a reliable and consistent renewable energy resource for our customers in southern Nevada,” said NV Energy President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Yackira. “We are proud of the innovative nature of this project as well as our company’s growing presence in the renewable energy arena. Additionally, we appreciate our partnership with Kern River and the great work Ormat has done in developing this project.”

The waste-heat-recovery project is adjacent to the Kern River Goodsprings compressor station. The project will use a process to capture the heat from Kern River’s natural gas-fueled compressors, and then use that heat to turn a separate generator to produce electricity. To save water, the project will use a dry-cooling system.

“Kern River is an advocate of increasing energy efficiency while reducing greenhouse gas emissions,” said Kern River President Gary Hoogeveen. “We have been happy to collaborate with NV Energy and Ormat to recover the heat from our compressors and turn it into energy to be used by NV Energy’s customers.”

Ormat provided the project technology and served as the project’s engineering, procurement and construction contractor. During construction the project employed approximately 30 workers during peak construction activity.

“We are pleased to have partnered with NV Energy in the design, supply and construction of the first recovered energy generation facility in Nevada,” said Ormat Technologies, Inc. President and COO Yoram Bronicki. “This innovative, cost-effective project will contribute to the success of Nevada’s renewable energy economy.”

The Goodsprings Energy Recovery Station is one of NV Energy’s 44 separate geothermal, solar, biomass, small hydro, wind and waste-heat recovery projects under contract that are either in commercial operation or the project-development stage. The company’s renewable energy portfolio is more than 1,200 megawatts.
